World In Outline
19 May 2023

Sometimes the outlines are details in themselves. This is a full colour photograph without any filter, taken from within a grand fall and looking out windows that might once have been stained but is now… erm… unstained windows?

Shapes, forms and lines – these are the broad strokes that make up a world, a scene, a plan, a book, a story. Once the larger overall structures are in place, the little details can be filled out or in… coloured, nuanced, given the breath of life and authenticity through embellishment.

And yet there is something beautiful in the simplicity itself. The interplay of light and darkness shapes the big chunks. The rest is in close up.
