This guy had the best time. He would run around, carefully enter the shallows, run across, get out and repeat the process. Each time, he would sniff out other spots with forensic intensity – and vary his pace and direction. His people were close by, so he felt safe to play his little game… on his own and completely happy. And the nobility of his species struck me. Never selfish, or vindictive. Never holding grudges. Not overthinking. Always living in the moment. Always finding joy in the simple truths of reality as and when and where they present themselves. Life is far too short… but I want to be free like that. I’d love to be a good boy too, sometimes.
