Watching The World Go By
4 Jun 2024

River and rail carry them along – in tides and train schedules – to old appointments or new adventures. But from here I can see them come and go, and move through, much as the tides and the clouds and temperatures and the cycles of the moon. I could shut it out, curtains closed, but the world still moves. So best to open them wide and look… through the wildflowers around my little nook. For me a place of safety, shelter from the wind, a spot to convalesce from the hardest miles that did the most damage to my frame… for my stories, a little corner cage, from where they must escape to reach around the world.
