A formidable actor and popular musician, Idan Amedi is perhaps best known to foreign audiences for his role as Sagi Tzur in the blockbuster Israeli series ‘Fauda’.
Amedi faced real life danger fighting in the Gaza Strip as a reservist in the Combat Engineering Corps of the IDF – and he was among several soldiers seriously injured in an engagement. He was airlifted to Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan at about 16:00 on Monday, 8 January 2024. After a lengthy surgery, he now seems to be on his way to recovery.
Of Kurdish background, Amedi began his career on the Pop Idols-style reality show Kochav Nolad with his song ”Pain of Warriors” which became a hit overnight. This was followed up by his first album, Taslich. At present, he has five albums under his belt.
The injury follows the death of Fauda-producer Matan Meir, as the IDF are engaged in desperate clashes to avoid future massacres of innocent civilians by Palestinian terrorists.
UPDATE (13 January 2024): Idan Amedi is now out of ICU.
