Tom Cruise signed a big deal with Warner Bros to develop and produce a whole bunch of original and ‘franchise’ movies. He’s made eight titles with them before – and is known for reliably delivering numbers.
Meantime, Universal made a deal with Steven Spielberg to produce the short story Long Lost – which is to be adapted for the screen by its original author, Colin Bannon.
In the meantime Disney – who lost about a billion dollars on producing things no one wanted to watch – and led once again by returning CEO Bob Iger, who is paid $31 million – recently settled a lawsuit brought by TSG Entertainment Finance for ‘’rampant self-dealing’’. A spokesperson for Disney said the matter is now resolved… so everyone can relax, we guess.
